KB3 ELITE - 2013

Coach Blackmon saw a need early on and started Houston’s first 7 on 7 organization, KB3 ELITE 7 ON 7.  Each year KB3 ELITE produces 10 teams from 10U – 18U, 5 of which compete on a National level.  In 2018 Coach Blackmon was selected to coach 1 of 3 Adidas National Teams that compete all over the country. KB3 ELITE is the largest 7 on 7 organization in the country and is the most competitive team in the Houston Area, cutting over 200 athletes at tryouts each year.

GAME FILM SOLUTIONS - 2012

Understanding the importance of game film in football, Coach Blackmon started a Company aimed at offering HUDL game film to youth football leagues.  For 5 years every league in Houston subscribed to his service.  Coach Blackmon was also used by HUDL as a consultant to help design their youth league football programs.  Game Film Solutions was sold in 2016 and is now VYPE MEDIA.

KB3 FOOTBALL TRAINING - 2008

After working with some of the top QB’s in the state, Coach Blackmon started Houston’s only football training company.  In the last 10 years he has produced some of the best QB’s in the country.  Coach Blackmon talks regularly with some of the top college coaches in the country and consults with high school, middle school and youth leagues across the state. 

Coach Blackmon’s coaching career was just as impressive as his aptitude for business.   His last of several stops in his short coaching career left the biggest mark.  As Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Second Baptist High School in Houston, he posted record numbers. During that time the only two QB’s he coached were considered to be tops in the country: three-time All State QB & 2010 RIVALS #2 Pro style QB Connor Wood threw for over 8,400 yards and was responsible for 107 TD’s in the air and on the ground while Jeremiah Briscoe was offered a full scholarship from Baylor before he even started a game at the QB position. In his four seasons in charge of the Eagle offense, Coach Blackmon’s offense produced over 17,000 yards, at that time - an all-time private school record in the state of Texas.

Coach Blackmon started his coaching career in the college ranks coaching for the legend, Ken Sparks at Carson Newman College followed by college stints at Louisiana college and Northwestern State then 14 years of high school coaching. During that time, he coached 17 Division I full-scholarship athletes including 2 playing professional football. Coach Blackmon played quarterback at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and also holds a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.  Coach Blackmon is married to LaNay Blackmon and has 3 kids, Jake 26, Emily, 21 & Luke, 13.
